Our Shared Rhythms of Grace

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” - Matthew 11:28-30

To be a community that follows Jesus for our neighbors, we have adopted a few shared rhythms of grace that we are committed to embodying together.

Rhythms of Grace

As a church, we have adopted six rhythms  of Jesus to help us slow down our lives in such a way that we open up our lives to receive the grace of God. To aid us in remembering these practices and their purposes, we’ve incorporated them with our church logo. We’ve provided more information regarding how we live into these rhythms of grace together below.

Prayer + Scripture

The two most important ways to connect with God are Prayer and Scripture. These two are meant to be engaged in together. When we read Scripture, the main goal is not to gain information, but to be formed as a follower of Jesus.  When we pray, rather than simply rattling off our wish list to God, we are praying according to God’s Word and God’s will.
